Kashmiri Rice


  • Rice 2 cup
  • Mutton mince 250 gm
  • Garlic paste 1/2 tbsp
  • Cumin seed 1 tsp
  • Onion medium 2 (chopped)
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger 1 piece
  • All spice 1 tsp (whole)
  • Green cardamom 2
  • Saffron or turmeric 1 tsp
  • Oil 1/4 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Cinnamon few

How It’s Made:

Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil and boil rice in it.
When rice is cooked, then stain out water and save a little water in a separate bowl.
Cook onion and mince in another pan without oil.
Then mix in ginger, oil and a little strained water from rice. Cook well.
Now add whole all spice, cinnamon, cardamom, cumin, red chilli powder and garlic paste. Mix well.
Now add the remaining strained water from rice, cover and cook for a few minutes.
When mince meat is cooked then add in rice.
Finally add saffron or turmeric.
Cover with a tight lid and cook on very low flame for 10 minutes.
Delicious Kashmiri rice are ready to serve.
